Whittier Medical Weight Control is proud to introduce REVOLUTIONARY
weight loss programs!
MEDICATIONS
Our program challenges conventional wisdom about weight loss and views excessive weight as a medical condition requiring medical attention. This program has been researched since 1980 and involves the use of FDA approved medications – which are all fully endorsed. Most people have little or no side effects. They actually enhance the body’s natural inclination to be thin and healthy.
.
The following appetite suppressants and medications are approved for weight loss in conjunction with a nutritional program and exercise. They are endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In or order for the program and medications to be effective, you must follow a reduced-calorie diet and exercise a minimum of three times per week in conjunction with the medication. In addition, to maintain your weight loss and prevent future weight gain, the changes that you made in your diet and consistent exercise must be continued after the weight has been lost.
-
Phentermine (15mg, 30mg, 37.5mg)
-
Phendimetrazine (35 mg, 105 mg)
-
Hydrochlorothiazide (25mg)
Water Pill - A diuretic to help prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. This medication has been used to treat menses, high blood pressure, and water retention. Hydrochlorothiazide may also be used for other purposes not listed on this website.
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)
HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced during pregnancy.
Injecting this hormone into your body on a set schedule while following a low calorie diet (500-900 calories) can help you lose weight and keep it off. The HCG Diet is particularly effective in burning stubborn belly fat making it an effective abdominal fat burner
How long can you take HCG for weight loss?
Three phases of the diet:
The diet is prescribed in three phases: Loading: You receive the hCG injection and eat high-fat, high-calorie foods for two days. Weight loss: You continue to receive injections and stick to a 500-calorie limit for 3-6 weeks and Final Phase 1 month of maintenance to reset hypothalamus.
Most hCG dieters report a loss of 1 to 2 lbs a day.
Your muscle fibers have hormone receptors that respond to the increased hormone levels. HCG injections prevent muscle loss and provide pure fat loss, making you leaner with a more robust metabolism to help you maintain the weight loss once the HCG diet is complete.
Semaglutide
Semaglutide is an injectable glucagon-like peptide -1 (GLP-1) agonist incretin hormone that plays a role in your appetite and digestion. Incretins - hormones released by your digestive tract - are sent out by your body after you've eaten a meal. They help to lower your blood sugar by triggering insulin release and blocking sugar production. They also slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach (called gastric emptying)
Tirzepatide
What is Tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is an injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 and Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GLP-1/ GIP) receptor agonist that’s administered once weekly. It was originally approved in 2017 — at a lower dose under the brand name Mounjaro — to help control blood sugar in Type 2 diabetes. People taking Mounjaro for blood sugar control also tend to lose weight as an additional benefit. Now, Tirzepatide (Monograph) is FDA-approved for weight loss.
Tirzepatide should be used in combination with lifestyle changes, including a healthy diet and exercise.
How does Tirzepatide work for weight loss?
GLP-1 & GIP is an incretin hormone that plays a role in your appetite and digestion. Incretins — hormones released by your digestive tract — are sent out by your body after you’ve eaten a meal. They help lower your blood sugar by triggering insulin release and blocking sugar production. They also slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach (called gastric emptying). The result of these actions causes you to feel full = lowering your appetite and aiding you in losing weight. Medications like GLP-1 agonists are referred to as incretin mimetics since they “mimic” these effects. As mentioned above, GLP-1 agonists, like Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, were originally used to treat Type 2 diabetes. However, the weight loss side effect has been shown to benefit people without Type 2 diabetes as well.
